How to Select the Right Tool
Four practical checks help narrow the correct product configuration before placing an order.
Identify the Material
Confirm the target material, hardness, abrasiveness, reinforcement or coating type.
Match the Machine
Verify the machine, arbor, threaded connection, toolholder, power and operating limits.
Choose the Configuration
Compare diameter, bond, segment geometry, tool grade, mounting system and cutting method.
Confirm Your Requirements
Share the application, size, quantity and destination for product selection or quotation review.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about matching professional tools to working materials and machines.
How do I choose between different diamond saw blades?
Start with the cutting material and the equipment. Then confirm diameter, arbor, machine operating speed, wet or dry method and intended bond characteristics. A blade suitable for one material may not be suitable for another.
Can one diamond blade cut both concrete and asphalt?
Some multi-purpose blades are designed for multiple construction materials, but not every blade is. Asphalt is abrasive and may require a suitable bond and additional undercut protection. Verify each product's intended use.
Are dry masonry core bits suitable for reinforced concrete?
Not necessarily. Dry bits intended for soft brick, CMU or soft masonry should not be assumed suitable for cured structural concrete or rebar. Choose a core bit specifically designed and approved for the task.
When should I choose PCD coating removal tools?
PCD tools may be appropriate for removal of certain floor coatings and surface materials. Conventional diamond grinding tools are commonly used for concrete surface preparation and grinding. Select according to the coating, substrate and surface profile required.
Will all road milling picks with the same shank diameter fit my machine?
No. Shank diameter alone is not sufficient. Check the toolholder, retaining system, head geometry and existing pick configuration before selecting a replacement.
Can ALSKAR help me choose between different tool series?
You can submit the target material, machine model, application, required size and quantity through the wholesale inquiry form. This information helps our team review relevant tool options.
